(Buster) Exported to the late JA Van Bree of the Netherlands
This is among the only existing
photos we still have of Buster in our archives, due only to the kindness
of Mrs. CM Knock of England for the gift of the 1976/1977 edition of the
English Boston Terrier Club Yearbook from
Initially, we exported Buster to the late J.A, Van Bree of Doorn, Netherlands who was not only an outstanding Boston Terrier breeder, but also a kennel inspector for the Netherlands Kennel Club. Mr. Van Bree bred his Bostons under the prefix of "de Regione Palustri" and was an outstanding Dutch Boston breeder who, along with the late Oetie Koudjis, helped to establish the Boston Terrier in Europe. In later years, Buster lived with Oetie Koudjis at her Oranjelust Kennels. Buster was exported to the Netherlands primarily for the purpose of providing another Pilot blooded dog that could assist Int. Ch. SunGlo's Pilot Light in helping to do his job at peopling Europe with excellent Bostons. Where as Pilot Light was a larger, more stylish dog who tended to produce dogs with outstanding fronts and necks that had alot of "zip" to their personality, Buster contributed outstanding expression, a desireable soft round eye and shorter bodies to Europe's existing genepool. Buster was primarily bred to Pilot Light's daughters, which yielded some truly outstanding Bostons for Europe that posessed Pilot Light's wonderful style, body and energy, while also receiving Buster's beautiful ears, expression and soft eyes.
At the left, is one of Buster's best known progeny, the beautiful Int. Dutch/ German/ Luxemborg Ch. Moonlight de Regione Palustri, a son of Int. Ch. Redwoods Glowing Kid Regards and a beautiful Pilot Light daughter, Int. Dutch/ German/ Luxemborg Ch. Judy de Regione Palustri. In addition to Moonlight, Buster also produced many other Champion and CC winning children and grandchildren. Among his grandchildren was
included the lovely English Ch. Chilka I'm The Colonel, a well known English
sire that can still be found behind many European Bostons and a son to
the famous English sire Ch. Chilka Washington who was a Pilot Light grandson.
